BACKGROUND
Jonathan Leong obtained his Bachelor Degree in the year 2013 from the University of Bristol, UK in general Law. He has 7 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, having joined Nam Cheong Dockyard Sdn Bhd in the year 2013 as a Management Trainee before shifting to the commercial function of the group. He is currently serving as Executive Director of Commercial matters of SKOSV Sdn Bhd, which is the OSV Chartering arm of the group, and is in charge of the day to day commercial operations as well as the Business Development and strategic direction of the subsidiary group.

Since 2018, Jonathan is also a member of the Malaysian Offshore Support Vessel Association (MOSVA), whose collective goal is to serve as a voice for Malaysian OSV owners to highlight concerns and work with authorities to alleviate issues faced by local Owners.

Dr. Renco Yong King Hwa

Dr. Renco Yong obtained his Bachelor Degree from Swinburne University, Australia in Management 2000 and obtained his Masters in Business Administration in 2002. After working in the Shipping, Shipbuilding, and Ship repair industry for more than 10 years, he decided to further study in University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and obtained his PhD in Maritime Technology in 2017. He has more than 16 years working experiences in the field of Shipping, Shipbuilding, Ship repair industries.

He is with Gimhwak Group of Companies since 2003 as Executive Director, which main role in Strategic planning, management and decision making for the corporate function involve in Shipbuilding, Ship repair (SBSR), Shipping, Crane & Machineries recondition, Design & Planning, Project management and Business development.

Dr. Renco is also actively involved in Association which is the President of Sarawak Association of Maritime Industries (SAMIN), the Advisor for Sarawak and Sabah Shipowners Association (SSSA), and Sibu Shipyards Association (SSA).

Elected as an EXCO member for the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council (MOGSC) for 2016-2018 and 2018-2020 term. Appointed as Mentor for the MOGSC’s Marine & Logistics Working Group (MLWG). Key Speaker for Asian Offshore Support Journal Conference in Singapore from the year 2016 to 2019

23 years of successful hands-on problem solving and decision making experience in challenging, dynamic and multifaceted marine work environments at sea and ashore, in positions of responsibility or other crucial decision-making leadership capacities.

Graduated as Best Overall Cadet, Best in Navigation and Best in Academic Studies from Malaysian Maritime Academy in 1994 and was trained under Shell Tankers (UK) as part of Petronas Tankers cadet sponsorship and its LNG officer’s development training program.

Thirteen years sailing experience includes two years command as a Ship Master and four years as a Chief Officer aboard Petronas LNG tankers transporting volatile cargoes in the world-wide liquid gas trade, with an unblemished safety record as well as outstanding personnel evaluation.

This was followed by a three and half years of work experience at Malaysian Maritime Academy (ALAM) in the capacity of Senior Lecturer. Conducted Bridge Resource Team Management courses, Ship-handling simulator, LNG and Oil tanker liquid cargo simulator, LNG related short courses and special development projects.

3 years’ working experience in the Learning and Development department with AET Shipmanagement (Singapore) Pte Ltd as their Training Superintendent.

Worked together with Department of Skills Development Malaysia in developing National Occupational Skill Standard (NOSS) for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) Operation. Appointed as “National Industry Expert” in Oil & Gas sector by the Ministry of Human Resource, Malaysia.

Founder and Managing Director of Vestera Resources Sdn Bhd, a fast growing technology based solutions provider in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Awarded the “Feasibility Study to Develop a Third Port Terminal at Port Klang in Pulau Carey, Selangor” by the Port Klang Authority.
